Valve Radio and Audio Repair Handbook (Newnes)

Valve Radio and Audio Repair Handbook (Newnes)

This book is not only an essential read for every professional working with antique radio and gramophone equipment, but also dealers, collectors and valve technology enthusiasts the world over.

The emphasis is firmly on the practicalities of repairing and restoring, so technical content is kept to a minimum, and always explained in a way that can be followed by readers with no background in electronics. Those who have a good grounding in electronics, but wish to learn more about the practical aspects, will benefit from the emphasis given to hands-on repair work, covering mechanical as well as electrical aspects of servicing. Repair techniques are also illustrated throughout.

This book is an expanded and updated version of Chas Miller's classic Practical Handbook of Valve Radio Repair. Full coverage of valve amplifiers will add to its appeal to all audio enthusiasts who appreciate the sound quality of valve equipment.

6" KLM Mini Tower Stereo Speakers

6" KLM Mini Tower Stereo Speakers

Got these things for $15. They're in pretty good condition and sound pretty good. I had a set of 6 ohm speakers from a Wal-Mart boom box that I had smoking at one point when I cranked The Chemical Brothers. I'm pretties rue these are designed to fit the power range of my stereo. I tested them with some pretty demanding audio and they held up nicely.

Alone these speakers are pretty weak but teamed up with my 15" tower speakers I'm given a nice crisp high and further dynamism in the mid/low range.

My stereo is almost complete. All I need now is a nice set of satellite surround sound speakers and new 15" speakers for my towers. I just have to figure out the appropriate RMS for my system. I'm guessing it's around 40 to 60 watts RMS at 8 ohms per speaker channel.

Sansui TU-5900 Tuner

Sansui TU-5900 Tuner

My vintage Sansui tuner I just bought from the classifieds. Boy does this sound good with the AU-7900 75x2 Sansui amp. Great, solid, vintage audio equipment!
